Terms & Conditions - the basics

By booking a tour with Makaira Boat Charters, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Booking & Payment: A confirmed booking requires a deposit or full payment in advance, depending on the tour type and date. Payment can be made via credit/debit card or in cash on site. Please note: card payments are subject to a 3.5% processing fee.
Weather Conditions: All tours are subject to safe sea and weather conditions. Final decisions on whether a trip proceeds lie with the captain. In case of unsafe conditions, Makaira Boat Charters reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the tour.
Punctuality: Guests must arrive at the designated meeting point on time. Delays caused by late arrivals may shorten the tour duration or result in cancellation without refund.
Safety & Conduct: All passengers must follow safety instructions provided by the crew. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may lead to early termination of the trip. Alcohol consumption is allowed in moderation, but intoxicated behavior will not be tolerated.
Liability: Participation is at the guest’s own risk. Makaira Boat Charters accepts no liability for personal injury, loss of property, or other damages unless caused by gross negligence.
Children & Guests: Children are welcome on board but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. The boat is not wheelchair accessible.

We understand that plans can change, and we aim to offer a fair and transparent refund policy:

Cancellations by the Guest:
– More than 72 hours before departure: 70% refund
– Less than 72 hours before departure: 50% refund
– Less than 24 hours / No-show: No refund
Cancellations by Makaira Boat Charters:
– If we must cancel a trip due to severe weather, mechanical issues, or safety concerns, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
Partial Trips:
– If a trip is cut short due to sudden weather changes after departure, we will assess the situation case-by-case and may issue a partial refund or credit.
Refund Processing:
– Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method within 7 business days.
